Scott played on the starting line at center. He saw a great deal of ice time on both the power play and the penalty kill. Scott earned the primary assist on the first goal of the game, scored by Jackals defenseman Matt Gens. However, his +/- was -1 for the night due to a goal scored by Devils right wing Joe Rooney. Elmira achieved a 3-1 lead after two periods. However, Trenton rallied for four goals in the third period to gain the victory. Elmira goalie Joel Martin allowed 5 goals on 21 shots, while Trenton goalie Maxime Ouellet allowed 3 goals on 37 shots. Scott was not the only collegiate player to make his professional debut in the game. Defenseman Russell Smith, recently of Division III Elmira College, also appeared in the professional ranks for the first time for the Jackals. He was scoreless in the game, but had two minor penalties. Six games remain in the Jackals' regular season, with four of those games being played on the road. The Jackals have already clinched a spot in the ECHL Playoffs, but are still looking to secure home ice. They are currently 2nd place in the ECHL's North Division of the American Conference. Last weekend, Scott completed his collegiate hockey career for Cornell University in the ECAC Tournament Final Four weekend. Over four years, he appeared in all 137 games for the Big Red, compiling 25 goals and 82 assists. He helped the team win one ECAC Tournament Championship and two trips to the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the national quarterfinals each time.
